An Invitation To Elevation

In the heart of Africa lies a country everyone’s heard of. It’s a small country with a big history, one that has left its mark like a scar across the last two decades. Now, the people of Rwanda are trying to put the past behind them as they rebuild for the future.

In 1994, a tragedy of almost Biblical proportions unfolded before the world’s eyes as a million people were butchered to death in just three short months. Millions more were left homeless and in poverty.

Sadly, it was young people who carried out much of what has come to be known as The Rwandan Genocide. Thankfully, times have changed and now a new generation is emerging in Rwanda, one that holds the future of the country in its hands.

Our dream is to bring young people together in Canada and Rwanda, in order to see a nation in need reach its full potential. In so doing, we hope to see the youth of a nation that has so much, be challenged to greater heights of compassion. It is from this dream that The Elevation Project has been born.

Working alongside a dedicated team at Rwanda YFC, Greater Vancouver Youth Unlimited is committed to Elevate young people to new levels of achievement. Together, we will be part of birthing a new generation that will not accept that things are as they have to be, but believe that they can bring change, that they can indeed be world changers.
